Blue and White Striped Top Blue Skirt Dress
This blue striped skirt one of my favorite skirts ever! It's lightweight, has pockets ??, has an elastic waistband for an easy fit, and is just darn cute.
I've shared this skirt several times lately on Facebook, Instagram, and PMT Emails to alert yall when it goes on sale. Because I've shared it so much, I thought I'd show you several ways to style it!
SIZING: I'm 5'6″ and usually 6/8 or S/M. Last year this skirt was in numeric sizing, and I sized down to 4. I tried this year's version and fit S best. XS worked since elastic is forgiving, but it squeezed my stomach too much and I knew it'd hurt after a full day.
This is a midi skirt, but I pull it up higher to my natural waist which is easy to do since the waistband is elastic. Pulling it up brings the midi skirt to the bottom of my knees even though I'm 5'6″. If you are petite, it would be a midi skirt on you no matter what, and many petites who've tried this skirt say it hasn't worked for them. A similar one from Old Navy that might work way better for petites is HERE.There are more similar options at different lengths at the bottom of this post.
I love that this skirt works with a simple cotton tee, like in this first outfit. I added my reddish orange flats to elevate the outfit and make it pop a bit more! You could also dress this down even more by changing the earrings to white or tan cutouts and wearing white slip on sneakers instead of red flats.

In this next outfit I'm using a top that is rayon and flowy. I love tops like this because the material, being not-cotton, and the way they drape take them up a notch from cotton tees. This outfit could easily be dressed up more with wedges or open toe heels like THESE.
I get asked about this shirt every time I wear it. It's years and years and years old from Forever 21 (yup–still going strong!), but there is a very, very similar one for $12.90 HERE! There's also another similar one for petites HERE.

This is basically what the outfit above would look like with a denim jacket. That, and it has the sliiiightest changes in accessories and hair.

I haven't gotten to wear this last outfit yet in "real life" yet since it's full on May Gray here, but I LOOOOOOOOVE this! Yellow is amazing with this skirt! I especially love the difference the white necklace makes. I wish I shot a "with" and "without" the white necklace because it really brought the outfit together and made it pop!

I think this skirt would look great with a bunch of different colors, like Kelly green, blush, magenta, or burnt orange. I could see it with a white tee and Kelly green cardigan, a blush top and denim jacket, or a magenta top in place of the yellow one above. It'd also be cute with the otter tee or cherry tee I showed last week! I fact, I know it's cute with those because I tried it. 😀
